General Officer Announcement
On 13 June the Secretary of Defense announced that the President had nominated MajGen John R. Allen for appointment as the Deputy Commander, U.S. Central Command, and for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general. MajGen Allen is currently serving as the Deputy Commanding General, II Marine Expeditionary Force, and Commanding General, 2d Marine Expeditionary Brigade, Camp Lejeune.
